1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Adhan Times + (“the App”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our mobile application on iPhone, Apple Watch, and related widgets (“Services”).
We designed the App to help you view prayer times, Qibla direction, Quran and Hadith content, notifications, and optional premium features. We do not require you to create a username or password. Instead, the App uses a pseudonymous device identifier stored on your device to sync settings and provide core functionality.
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. Scope
This policy applies to:
- The Adhan Times + iOS application and its extensions (widgets, Live Activities, Apple Watch companion app);
- Data processed on our servers and through third-party services listed below;
- In-app purchases and subscriptions processed through Apple and RevenueCat.
This policy does not cover third-party websites, apps, or services you open from the App (for example, external maps, audio streams, or content APIs). Those services have their own privacy policies.
3. Information we collect
We collect information in the categories below. Most technical data is collected automatically; some data depends on permissions you grant.
3.1 Pseudonymous identifier
On first launch, the App generates or retrieves a random unique identifier (UUID) stored in your device Keychain. This ID is used to:
- Sync preferences and bookmarks to our cloud database (Firebase Firestore);
- Associate subscription status and app settings across sessions;
- Link push notification tokens to your device profile.
We do not use this ID to identify you by name, email, or phone number unless you voluntarily contact us.
3.2 Location data
If you allow location access (or set a manual city/coordinates in Settings), we process:
- Approximate or precise latitude and longitude;
- Derived region or country code (for prayer calculation and defaults);
- Location-related labels shown in the App (e.g. city name from Apple’s geocoding).
Location is used for prayer times, Qibla bearing, nearby mosques on the map, and related widgets. You can use manual location instead of GPS.
3.3 App preferences and user-generated content
We store settings and content you configure, including:
- Prayer calculation method, madhab, and notification preferences;
- Per-prayer notification sound choices (premium feature where applicable);
- Quran translation edition, font sizes, reader settings, and reading position;
- Quran and Hadith bookmarks;
- Dhikr counter (Tasbih) presets and progress;
- Live Activity and widget-related preferences;
- Language preference.
These may be stored locally on your device and synced to Firestore under your device identifier.
3.4 Subscription and purchase information
Premium subscriptions are sold through Apple In-App Purchase. We do not receive your full payment card details. We receive subscription status from RevenueCat (e.g. active entitlement, product type) and store a summary such as premium or free in Firestore.
3.5 Device and usage data (analytics and diagnostics)
Through Google Firebase, we may collect:
- Firebase Analytics: aggregated usage events (e.g. screens opened, feature usage), device model, OS version, app version, general geography, session data;
- Firebase Crashlytics: crash logs, stack traces, and diagnostic information to fix bugs;
- Firebase Cloud Messaging: push notification device token (FCM/APNs) if you enable notifications;
- Firebase Remote Config: configuration flags delivered to the App (e.g. feature toggles, stream URLs).
Analytics data is typically pseudonymous and used to improve stability and product decisions.
3.6 Advertising data (free users)
If you use the App without an active premium subscription, we may show Google AdMob banner advertisements. AdMob may collect advertising identifiers and related data per Google’s policies to serve and measure ads. Premium subscribers do not see in-app banner ads in the App’s primary ad placements.
3.7 Communications
If you contact us by email, we process the information you send (e.g. email address, message content) solely to respond to your inquiry.
3.8 What we do not collect
- We do not require account registration with email or password for normal App use;
- We do not knowingly collect government ID, financial account numbers, or precise religious affiliation beyond what you store in bookmarks/settings;
- We do not sell your personal information.
4. How we use information
We use collected information to:
- Calculate and display prayer times, calendars, and Qibla direction;
- Deliver local notifications and optional Live Activities;
- Sync your settings and bookmarks across reinstalls (via cloud sync);
- Provide Quran, Hadith, mosque map, and live stream features;
- Process and validate premium subscriptions;
- Show advertisements to non-premium users;
- Monitor crashes, fix errors, and understand aggregated usage;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
5. Sharing and third parties
We share data only as described below with service providers that help us operate the App:

We may also disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and security. If we are involved in a merger or acquisition, user information may transfer subject to this policy or a successor notice.

6. Subscriptions and payments
Premium features are offered as auto-renewing or non-renewing subscriptions through Apple. Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. RevenueCat helps us verify subscription status on your device. Cancellation and refunds follow Apple’s Media Services Terms.
7. Data retention
- Firestore user documents: retained while you use the App and for a reasonable period afterward unless you request deletion;
- Analytics and crash data: retained per Firebase default retention (often months; aggregated analytics may be kept longer);
- Local device data: remains until you delete the App or reset preferences;
- Support emails: retained as long as needed to handle your request and for legal/compliance purposes.
You may request deletion of your cloud profile by contacting us (see Section 12).
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures appropriate to the data we hold, including encrypted transport (HTTPS/TLS), Apple platform security, and Firebase access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children’s privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
10. International transfers
We and our service providers may process data in countries other than your own (including the United States and European Union data centers used by Google and Apple). Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or provider certifications.
11. Your rights and choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to data portability.
You can also:
- Deny or revoke location permission in iOS Settings;
- Disable notifications in iOS Settings;
- Change app language in iOS Settings → Adhan Times +;
- Limit ad tracking via iOS Privacy → Tracking and Apple advertising settings;
- Cancel subscriptions in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions;
- Delete the App to remove local data; contact us to request cloud deletion.
For EEA/UK users, you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. For California residents, we do not sell personal information as defined under the CCPA/CPRA.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes may be communicated in the App or on our website where available. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
